These are the items that I make in batches and aim to keep in stock. Note that part of the appeal of handmade work is that no two pieces are identical, there maybe small variations in colour and size.
This Work In detail
The exterior glaze has a smooth finish, but is not intended to be either shiny gloss or dry matt, but in between like eggshell. The interior is glazed with a transparent glossy glaze allowing the white colour of the porcelain to come through. This allows you to see the true colour of what you are eating or drinking, especially nice for clear beverages such as tea without milk. It is also easy to see if this interior surface has picked up any stains as you use it - these are easily cleaned off, and can even go in a dishwasher if you have one.
One more thing - because they are made from porcelain, if you hold the the thinner pieces such as mugs up to the light you will see that the sides and base are slightly translucent, this is a lovely feature, especially when sunlight shines through it.
